Adventurous Maternity Session at Steel Creek Campground

A beautiful, radiant mama to be wanted her photos at one of my favorite locations- The Buffalo National River.
Maternity sessions hold a very special place in my heart. This type of session was the VERY first session that I ever photographed. I can recall feeling the pressure that first session. I wanted so hard to get it right, because like a wedding, these are moments that you can't re-do. I've learned a lot since that first session and it was so amazing to get to capture this moment in time for them.
Myka + David were an absolute dream to meet. They felt like friends I have known for a really long time! We laughed so hard during the entire session. They brought along their sweet puppy too. I am always a fan of bringing your furry friends to your session!

Their session took place in early November. We got so lucky with the peak fall colors for this day! Sometimes it's really hard to pin exactly when the peak color for the season will be. All it takes is for it to be unseasonably warm, dry, or too wet. The conditions really have to be just right for Arkansas to really pop off with the color.

Since this was an Adventure Session, we had lots of time to change outfits and switch up our location. We started out over by the tall grassy area because there was a perfect little pocket of shade. As the sun dipped lower in to the valley, Myka changed into this beautiful orange boho dress and we moved over to get the tall, painted bluff line for the end of our session.
