Arkansas Engagement Photos in the OZark National Forest
Bailey & Blake’s engagement session was one for the books. We had the dreamiest summer evening tucked deep in the Ozark National Forest. These two found me through Google (if that’s how you got here—HI!) and drove all the way from Fort Worth, Texas just to get in front of my lens. The amount of trust they placed in me still makes my heart swell. From the moment someone lands on my site, I want it to feel like a warm hug—and from our very first messages to the final gallery, that’s exactly what this felt like. We had the best time meeting, laughing, and adventuring through the wild together.
ARKANSAS OZARK NATIONAL FOREST
This particular spot is one I return to again and again—and for good reason. Long before photography became my full-time career, my husband and I would drive up here with our friends to camp, rock climb, and chase sunsets. It’s a quiet, rugged pocket of the Ozarks that holds so many memories, and it never stops taking my breath away. Arkansas can be so underestimated. But hidden among its winding trails are sweeping mountain overlooks, peaceful lakes, and that ribbon of beauty we call the Buffalo National River. It’s a gem—one that locals hold close to the chest. That’s the beautiful tension: wanting to share it, yet wanting to protect it. Bailey & Blake originally booked this session while planning a weekend to explore the area—but Mother Nature had other plans. The rain that rolled in was no joke—torrential and relentless. The night before our shoot, they texted to say they were heading back home, their plans completely washed out. My heart sank. So when they said they wanted to come all the way back on a completely separate day just for photos, I was floored. Humbled. So grateful. We picked the sunniest-looking date we could, did a few anti-rain dances, and crossed all our fingers. And it worked—the light, the weather, the laughter... it was absolute perfection. Such a dream to witness and document their love in this wild little pocket of the world.

My fiancé and I are huge campers/adventure seekers. So when we started looking at doing a photo shoot on our annual camping trip, we knew we wanted someone that could photograph our love for nature. Sara’s instagram is literally @saragoesOUTSIDE which obviously drew me to her.
Her own love for hiking and nature made her a top contender for our shoot. Sara was very knowledgeable about the hiking trails and area we wanted to get our photos taken.
She was more than willing to work with our camping schedule and with the unpredictable weather that IS Arkansas. During our shoot, Sara made us feel so comfortable in front of her camera.
